Professor Robin Higgs has been in practice in Orthopaedic, General, Trauma, and Forensic Surgery for many years. The Professor has a unique combination of experiences that have proved invaluable to his MEDICO-LEGAL practice. The Professor's reputation is associated with his ability to combine an accurate clinical judgement with experience and understanding. His opinion on a range of issues is widely sort both here in Australia and overseas.
The Professor is a Member of the Australian Academy of Forensic Science.
The Professor's interest and demand as a Medico-Legal consultant follows from the many years that he was involved in the medical management of victims of disasters. He has been a Medical Marshall for the Sydney Metropolitan Disaster Plan and he was Medical Director of the Wales Emergency Rescue Helicopter (SLSA) Service. In the 1980's the Professor was the NSW spokesman for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Road Trauma Committee.


The Professor is now a Workcover Commission Approved Medical Specialist (Assessment of Permanent Impairment and Dispute Resolution), Injury Management Consultant, and Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) Orthopaedic Implant Device Assessor. His Orthopaedic and Engineering background is naturally reflected in his great interest in Products Liability.

Whilst the Professor has done much work in the field of Medical Negligence his special interests are Workers Compensation, Personal Injury Claims, and Consumer Protection (Products Liability). He is frequently retained as an expert witness with regard to injuries sustained in motor vehicle accidents, work related incidents, and recreational and sporting events.
