First Visit Guide

When you come for your appointment please remember to obtain and bring the following

  • Referral letter from GP, family physician or other doctor
  • Medicare card and/or DVA card
  • Private Hospital Insurance information
  • Previous reports, X-rays, MRIs, CT scans etc. and any other relevant medical documents
  • These can also be emailed to the practice: info@orthopaedicsurgeon.com.au
  • List of current medications that you are taking

Note:

  • Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment (Preferably please place this before the list of what to bring)
  • Telehealth consultations are an option for follow up appointments only, an initial consultation must be conducted in person.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will my consultation be?

An initial consultation will be between 15-30 minutes and any follow up consultations approximately 10- 15 minutes, however this can differ based on your condition.

How do I pay for my consultation?

Payment is accepted in EFTPOS, Credit Card, AMEX or cash only following your consultation.

Pre-payment is required for all telehealth appointments.

The practice does not bulk bill.

What if I need to reschedule my appointment?

Please contact us via phone (1300 286 466) or email (info@orthopaedicsurgeon.com), if you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment.

Will I get any rebate from Medicare or Private Health Fund?

You will receive a rebate from Medicare, but unfortunately not from your health fund for a consultation.

When should the surgical bill be paid?

Your surgical bill can either be paid through Electronic Funds Transfer once you receive your invoice or at your first post-operative visit.
